Let me share some helpful tips on how to refresh your wardrobe so you can tackle 2019 in style.

Go through everything in your closet and drawers. If you can’t see everything then place items on your bed for easy sorting. Make a pile of clothing to donate, especially items that no longer fit and items you haven’t worn in more than a year. There’s no shortage of places that will gladly accept gently used clothing. Make another pile of clothing to mend. Visiting a tailor for minor repairs or alterations will save you money versus having to replace items. And you don’t have to visit an expensive tailor, many cleaners offer repair or alteration services.

Arrange your closet by current season so you have easy access to items you are currently wearing. It’s a good idea to rotate your clothing so that you’re not constantly wearing the same items and wearing them out prematurely. If you’re limited with closet space, you may want to store your seasonal clothes in plastic bins so there’s more room in your closet and clothes breathe better with the additional space.

Now that your closet is more organized and you know what you have to work with, there are some simple ways to refresh your look without running up your credit card bill especially after the holidays.

One of the simplest ways to refresh your look is to accessorize, whether that’s adding a pocket square to your jacket or coloured shoelaces to your dress shoes.

Coordinating your outfit doesn’t have to be daunting. Learn how to match a tie to a shirt or a belt to your shoes.

Don’t shy away from wearing jewellery, whether it’s a tie clip or a leather bracelet that can put a final touch to your look.
